Key Ingredients: Pantry Staples Packaging


Currently there is a large global push to generate sustainable packaging that is cost effective and positively impacting the
environment. This project for a university assignment asked us to respond to this global push and create a range of sustainable
dry food packaging for a high end grocer.

Through conceptual research, I explored sustainable packaging in everyday pantry staples and further into the afterlife of a
package, where it goes and how it could be redesigned for a dual purpose.

The minimal design generates a cost effective option for production through sustainable materials and reduced colour. The designed
label is removable, leaving an empty package that can be reused for another purpose and the labels can either be recycled or kept
in a recipe book for further use.
